Travel writer features Winona in Great River Road trip

Travel writer, Lisa Meyers McClintick, wrote about the Minnesota river historic towns she visited while following the Great River Road. The Great River Road in Minnesota runs from the headwaters in Lake Itasca to the southeast tip of the state. There is a lot of history along the way and a stop in Winona is an experience of history, art, beauty and culture. It is shown in the Victorian era of architecture and stained glass windows in churches and buildings, the “art inspired by water” exhibits at the Minnesota Marine Art Museum, the annual Smaczne Jablka (Apple Day) festival at the Polish Museum, the Garvin Heights vineyard’s harvest season and the abundant festivals throughout the year.
